Senior Software Engineer

Location:
Fully Remote
Job Type: Full Time

Strike Graph is looking to hire a motivated full-stack Senior Software Engineer to join our product development efforts. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for working with a team of software engineers to build software that helps our customers establish and maintain their security compliance programs.

We are a collaborative product development team that works to build inclusive environments where every team member can thrive. Our engineers work directly with the product team to come up with creative solutions to user-centered opportunities. Our engineers split their time across the tech stack, touching the user interface (React), backend APIs (Node.js), infrastructure (Terraform, Docker, AWS), and microservices (Node.js, Python) for any given piece of work.

Our Senior Software Engineers influence our engineering culture, and we are looking for a team member who is motivated and excited about working with a team to build web applications. We are a remote-first distributed team, so communication and motivational skills are a priority. While we’ve been in business for 4 years, we are still a startup at heart, and so building MVPs and consistent, incremental delivery is a big focus.

If this sounds like your cup of tea (or coffee, or water), please read on and then reach out. We’d love to chat.

Core Responsibilities & Objectives:

  • Help build a collaborative, inclusive, and productive engineering team.
  • Contribute code across our entire tech stack as you work on our web application, services, and infrastructure.
  • Apply a sense of ownership as you design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve our software product.
  • Collaborate closely with your team of engineers and others at the organization.
  • Provide technical and design leadership on projects, developing and implementing solutions from the ground up.
  • Lead by example while mentoring and train other team members on secure architecture and coding best practices.
  • Contribute to additional learning opportunities through our engineering guild programs.

Experience and Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Strong, senior-level professional experience as a software engineer and/or in an equivalent or closely related position.
  • Experience working full-stack and with one or more general-purpose programming languages.
  • History of consistently delivering features for a web-based application, ideally in a startup (or similar) environment where MVP development is the focus.
  • Solid understanding of agile and scrum methodologies.
  • Fluency in Node.js and React, and familiarity with Terraform.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven recording of working well in a diverse, inclusive, team-oriented environment.
  • Technical leadership skills and experience -- ability to set a tone of best practices, teach and mentor others, and foster knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Nice to have, but preferred qualifications

  • Code fluency with Python or other software languages.
  • Development experience using AWS services.
  • Experience using AI in engineering coding environments.
  • Experience developing third-party integrations.
  • Experience in financial audit, cyber security, privacy, automation, or compliance.
