Job Description
The Logistics Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, overseeing domestic and international shipping and receiving operations, and coordinating the movement of materials to support production schedules. This role manages inventory control, freight logistics, import/export documentation, and carrier relationships while ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company policies. The Inventory & Logistics Coordinator collaborates closely with Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Finance to optimize inventory levels, improve logistics processes, and ensure the timely delivery of materials and products. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Role Responsibilities
Maintain accurate inventory at all times, including inventory counts, bin locations, labeling, and inventory records.
Receive shipments by verifying packing slips against delivered materials, unpacking, stocking, and transferring products to the appropriate departments.
Maintain accurate inventory documentation and records.
Pack and label outbound shipments to ensure they are shipped accurately and within required time constraints.
Work with Quality Assurance to verify incoming products meet required specifications.
Collaborate with Purchasing to resolve shipment discrepancies with vendors and process Return to Vendor (RTV/RMA) shipments with all required documentation.
Maintain inventory min/max levels to support production and fulfillment needs.
Pull work orders and kit materials to support production schedules and flight manifest requirements.
Perform weekly cycle counts and assist with the annual physical inventory audit.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
Proactively track, report, and communicate critical issues and risks to management.
Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to support operational objectives.
Negotiate shipping rates and contracts with freight forwarders while maintaining strong carrier relationships.
Maintain knowledge of international export regulations, customs requirements, and trade compliance standards.
Process freight requests accurately and in a timely manner.
Schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments while providing status updates to internal stakeholders.
Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement logistics process improvements.
Oversee the import and export of goods, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for freight savings and logistics process improvements.
Coordinate with carriers and freight providers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve shipment issues.
Track and report logistics key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, freight costs, and supplier performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or logistics coordination.
Experience with domestic and international shipping, freight coordination, and import/export documentation.
Working knowledge of U.S. export regulations, customs requirements, and international trade compliance.
Experience using ERP/MRP systems for inventory management and transaction processing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Strong understanding of inventory control principles, cycle counting, and physical inventory processes.
Ability to read engineering drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to analyze freight costs, inventory data, and logistics performance metrics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business priorities.
Ability to solve routine and moderately complex problems independently.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a warehouse environment, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
Forklift certification.
Experience working in a manufacturing, aerospace, or regulated production environment.
