Waymark is the breakthrough AI production platform that uses a single prompt to create stunning, personalized commercials and spec spots in minutes—no creative skills needed. We’re looking for a Backend Engineer (P3/P4 level) to help scale and enhance our AI-driven video platform.
In this role, you’ll design, build, and optimize backend services that power video generation, integrate AI capabilities, and support a seamless user experience. You’ll work closely with our product and frontend teams to build robust, scalable systems in a fast-moving environment.

Opportunities and Responsibilities
As a Backend Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
✅ Developing and maintaining scalable backend services that power AI-generated video content
✅ Designing APIs and backend systems to support real-time and batch video rendering workflows
✅ Optimizing database performance and ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval
✅ Integrating third-party APIs and services, such as OpenAI, stock footage providers, and enterprise systems
✅ Collaborating with frontend engineers to build a seamless user experience
✅ Implementing security best practices to protect customer data and infrastructure
✅ Contributing to technical decisions that shape Waymark’s backend architecture
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
To be successful in this role, you should have:
✔️ 3+ years (P3) or 5+ years (P4) of backend development experience
✔️ Proficiency in one of the following: Python, Golang, or TypeScript (Node.js)
✔️ Strong understanding of API development (GraphQL, REST)
✔️ Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
✔️ Familiarity with AWS services like Lambda, ECS, and Step Functions
✔️ A focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability

➕ Experience working in a cloud-native, serverless architecture
