As a Senior Data Security Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the security posture of the organization by developing, implementing, and managing data security solutions and processes. This role involves a blend of technical acumen and project management skills to architect, deploy, and optimize data security frameworks and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering efforts around core Data Security solutions including Insider Risk Management/Data Loss Prevention
  • Collaborate with IT and business units to integrate data security measures with existing systems and processes
  • Develop reports and dashboards from disparate data sources in order to monitor appropriate use and management of sensitive data across Tempus ecosystem
  • Assist with development, maintenance and utilization of scripts to support custom extract, transform load (ETL) tools with a security focus on governance and reporting
  • Attend regular technical project and implementation meetings, and serve as the security consultant to help guide secure application and infrastructure configurations
  • Actively monitor, assess and recommend tactical and strategic initiatives based on new and emerging threats posing risk to Tempus data based on in use technologies
  • Manage assigned projects related to data security, ensuring they are delivered on time and meeting defined objectives
  • Stay apprised of current and proposed security changes impacting regulatory, privacy and security industry best practice guidance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 7+ Years of overall IT Experience with a major emphasis on Information Security
  • Proficiency in using APIs with automation to complete tasks
  • Strong scripting and/or programming skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, EU AI Act)
  • Knowledge of cyber security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, CIS Controls, PCI DSS)

  • Log analysis software and techniques (SIEM)
  • CISSP, SSCP, or CCSP certifications
  • AWS/GCP/Azure certifications
