Tempus AI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Business Partner to oversee the financial operations and P&L spend for our product engineering, genAI, and corporate organizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management within the technology sectors, with a focus on supporting innovative and fast-paced environments. This role is critical to ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of Tempus AI as we scale our transformative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for product engineering, genAI, and corporate departments.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide actionable insights to drive financial performance.
• Collaborate with department heads to develop financial models and scenarios to support strategic decision-making.
2. P&L Management:
• Oversee and manage the financial reporting for the designated departments.
• Monitor and control departmental spending to ensure alignment with forecast and plan.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements without compromising innovation and quality.
3. Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Support external audits and regulatory reporting requirements as needed.
4. Strategic Partnership:
• Act as a strategic partner to the heads of product engineering, genAI, and corporate departments.
• Provide financial guidance and support for major projects, product launches, and research initiatives.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to drive business growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in financial management, preferably within the technology sectors. Public cloud experience a plus
• Proven track record of managing P&L statements and delivering financial insights that drive business performance.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to ethical standards.
