As a Staff Product Manager at Tempus, you’ll be on the front lines of our battle to develop and deliver cutting-edge, modern technology into the hands of clinicians. The software we’re developing is the culmination of input from scientists, clinicians, pathologists, engineers, data scientists, and some of the top academic medical centers in the world.

In this Staff PM role, you will lead our AI product team, you will drive the development and commercialization of AI-driven products tailored for precision medicine. Collaborating with a team of scientists, engineers, and clinicians, you will translate cutting-edge research into scalable and impactful healthcare solutions.

You will:

  • Own the product vision for our generative AI products that are used by both internal researchers at Tempus and our external data customers.
  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of generative AI initiatives across a cross-functional team.
  • Deeply understand the customers needs, wants, and desires as they evolve with AI and translate those to actionable insights and a roadmap that delivers strong value
  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to define product requirements and roadmaps.
  • Establish key results and metrics that lead the product towards meaningful impact.
  • Manage the product lifecycle from concept through launch, ensuring that all products meet high standards of clinical and operational excellence.
  • Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to keep Tempus at the forefront of the healthcare technology sector.
  • Represent and communicate product vision to the senior business executives
  • Collaborate with other members of the product leadership team on advancements to our product development playbook and product culture
  • Collaborate with Tempus AI & Data Science researchers to capitalize on Tempus’s unique data, technical capabilities, and advances in the field of AI

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in product management or in building software, preferably in the healthcare or biotech industry
  • Experience in some combination of medical informatics, real world data, EMR systems integration and medical data modeling
  • Technical familiarity with generative AI and other machine learning and data science concepts, especially their capabilities and limitations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to act as translator among diverse teams of biologists, medical professionals, engineers, operators, and data scientists.
  • Experience working with agile software development teams and in driving process improvement in a growing product organization
  • Ability and interest to quickly ramp up on new concepts in the fields of genomics, oncology, digital pathology, etc

The expected salary range below is applicable if the role is performed from [New York] and may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits, depending on the position.
New York Pay Range
$165,000$200,000 USD
