Manager, Strategy & Sales Operations - Life Science Research Genomics

We are looking for a Strategy & Sales Operations Manager to join our Life Sciences organization. This individual will help to build and refine the go to market strategy for our Life Science Research Genomics business unit (BU), and support day to day commercial operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Tempus’ business development (BD) team to develop partnership opportunities with our key biopharma and academic research accounts to drive client conversations forward
  • Own development of proposals and contracts for the Life Science Research Genomics BU from identification of customer needs, to presentation of customer-ready feasibilities, proposals and contracts in partnership with the BD team
  • Manage commercial marketing activities for the Life Science Research Genomics team including nurture campaigns, conference/webinar planning, collateral development, positioning statements and website content development
  • Source biotech and research customer targets by researching companies/institutions, contacts, assets, and areas of interest
  • Conduct strategic analysis using pharma and competitive intelligence to help identify key differentiators and refine our marketing material
  • Work collaboratively across commercial, medical, product, regulatory and laboratory teams to develop go-to-market strategies
  • Improve operational processes for customer engagement/outreach/retention, go-to-market tactics, KPI development

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of pharma and/or consulting experience with a history of proven past performance, meeting or exceeding expectations
  • Desire to maintain a level of market, customer, and product knowledge necessary to meet sales and marketing objectives
  • Customer-facing experience, especially in a business development or consulting capacity
  • Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects and prioritize daily tasks while managing critical deadlines
  • Demonstrate Tempus’ values by acting with integrity, respect and trust

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics or Cancer Genetics, or related field a plus; MBA a plus
  • Experience working in oncology
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with an interest in latest pharmaceutical developments
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry trends and companies
  • Experience in Companion Diagnostics (CDx), next generation sequencing or multi omics market
  • Experience in performing market analysis and deriving insights from this research
  • Genomic data background and experience
