Job Description

The primary role of the E-commerce Sales Director is to attract and win new customers for our stock program in cold chain, protective and other industries. The markets we serve have an urgent need for disruptive, sustainable alternatives to replace the wide array of non-sustainable packaging materials conventionally used, such as Styrofoam coolers. Our aspiration is to provide packaging solutions that customers and end-consumers feel great about using.

TemperPack stock program is a critical sales channel that serves our lower MOQ customer base seeking competitive sustainable alternatives to support their business growth. To be successful, the E-commerce Sales Director will need to deeply under customers' needs and creatively find ways our products and the e-commerce platform can help solve those problems.

The role includes all aspects of the Sales function: prospecting, matching customer needs with solutions, communication between customers and company, representation of company at events and trade shows, and continued evaluation of Company sales efforts and recommended improvements.

Compensation and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience level.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for all aspects of e-commerce sales: helping design and implement online platform, identifying targets, establishing a pipeline, evaluating pricing and stocking strategies, delivering proposals and closing new client business for the Company.
  • Partner with IT as the SME from the commercial team to develop the online store.
  • Manage access to the online portal for existing and prospective customers.
  • Work with Marketing to scope and create downloads, one-pagers and other tools to improve customer experience.
  • Track data on site activity, making recommendations for enhancements and act as beta-tester for site upgrades.
  • Monitor stock program health, including sku activity to ensure inventory turns, making recommendations for additions or deletions to the stock program based on market feedback.
  • Support new part creation including generating CADs and spec details.
  • Review historical sales data and to outreach to eliminate churn and capture incremental growth opportunities.
  • Manage test requests for stock customers by offering existing data and simulations.
  • Prepare quotations for testing services if chamber tests are requested.
  • Able to analyze market dynamics and industry trends, define new addressable targets and prioritize products and prospecting efforts to build a pipeline.
  • Able to think strategically and develop compelling customer value propositions and link solutions to the customer strategy and requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior management to create and execute plan to achieve profitable sales growth
  • Close collaboration with marketing on inbound campaign content and strategy.
  • Expert in e-commerce, able to analyze data and take action to drive growth amidst changing market conditions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external customers; assist as needed with problem solving and customer relationship management.
  • Diligent use of CRM to track sales cycle, and forecast revenue.

Qualifications

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of previous e-commerce sales experience in packaging. Cold chain, protective or technical sales experience preferred.
  • Customer oriented with excellent communication, presentation and project management skills.
  • Consistency in words and actions that demonstrate the core values of teamwork and integrity.
  • Ability to deeply understand technical aspects of the business.
  • 25% travel to company and client locations as needed.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred, or similar professional experience.
