We are looking for a results-driven Provider Directory Optimization Specialist to improve how providers are surfaced, ranked, and selected across payer directories, third-party marketplaces, and internal search experiences. This role is focused on maximizing provider visibility and match quality by optimizing the data elements that directly influence directory ranking, filtering, and patient decision-making. You’ll work across systems to ensure provider profiles are accurate, competitive, and positioned to perform well in real-world search environments.

This is a remote position based on Eastern Time. Talkspace Headquarters is located in NYC.

What You’ll Do

  • Directory Optimization & Provider Visibility
    • Analyze how providers appear across payer directories and third-party platforms (e.g., insurance directories, marketplaces)
    • Optimize provider profiles to improve ranking and discoverability based on key filters like insurance, specialty, and location
    • Ensure critical fields- such as specialty, taxonomy, availability, panel status, telehealth, and languages- are complete and optimized
    • Identify and resolve gaps that may negatively impact provider visibility or search performance
  • Ranking & Search Performance
    • Evaluate factors that influence provider ranking (e.g., data completeness, recency, engagement signals)
    • Partner with internal teams to prioritize updates that improve relevance and positioning in search results
    • Support testing and iteration of changes to improve match quality and patient conversion
    • Monitor performance trends and adjust optimization strategies accordingly
  • Provider Data Quality & Integrity
    • Audit provider data across systems including NPI, CAQH, payer feeds, and internal databases
    • Improve data accuracy, consistency, and standardization across platforms
    • Collaborate with Credentialing, Provider Operations, and Engineering to resolve discrepancies and streamline updates
    • Support ongoing improvements to provider data workflows and governance
  • Insights & Continuous Improvement
    • Track and report on key metrics such as provider visibility, search ranking, profile completeness, and conversion
    • Build dashboards or reports to monitor directory performance and optimization impact
    • Identify trends and recommend actionable improvements to enhance provider discoverability
    • Stay current on best practices across payer and marketplace directories

About You

  • 2+ years of experience in provider data, healthcare operations, directory management, or analytics
  • Strong understanding of how provider directories function (payer or third-party)
  • Experience working with structured data (Excel, SQL, or similar tools)
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and completeness
  • Analytical thinker who can connect data insights to practical improvements
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills

Bonus Points

  • Hands-on experience optimizing provider profiles in platforms like Psychology Today, Zocdoc, Headway, Alma, or payer directories
  • Familiarity with NPI, CAQH, taxonomy codes, and provider data structures
  • Exposure to search ranking, filtering logic, or marketplace dynamics
  • Understanding of healthcare data exchange concepts (e.g., FHIR)

Compensation

At Talkspace, we believe that pay transparency during the interview process is a critical part of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our salary bands are based on internal and external compensation benchmarks, which we regularly evaluate to ensure we pay competitively.

The base salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $95,000. Within the salary bands, leveling corresponds to each candidate’s relevant experience, skills as assessed during the interview process, education, and applicable certifications.
