See open jobs at Sweetgreen.See open jobs similar to "Director, Construction" Revolution.The Director of Construction will be a key member of the Store Development Leadership Team, responsible for creating and overseeing the construction of new restaurant openings and remodels of existing restaurants. We are looking for an experienced team leader to establish construction best practices, processes, resource planning, and management for scale.
This role will work with our Operations team to develop a strong working partnership and interact with other Support Center departments to provide subject matter expertise and represent the needs of our operators and guests. To this end, you will lead an existing team and work cross-functionally to build and evolve a construction strategy and function that meets our rapidly growing business's current and future needs.
You will:
- Develop and implement construction strategies, plans, and procedures
- Oversee the planning + development of new restaurant openings to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives
- Ensure compliance with industry + OSHA standards, safety regulations, and building codes
- Lead the planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of the NRO pipeline to identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards
- Develop and manage construction budgets, ensuring cost control and financial accountability while coming up with new ways to lower costs and increase the speed of construction
- Analyze financial performance and prepare regular reports for Executive leadership
- Manage, lead, and develop a team of Construction Managers to ensure consistent and high-quality levels of support and accountability
Desired traits:
- Strong leadership and team management skills and ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Work with Executive leadership to develop long-term plans for the organization around the growth and development of construction
- Candidates must be willing to relocate to the Greater Los Angeles area
Desired experience:
- 10+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- A master's degree or additional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED AP) is preferred
- Knowledgeable in governing codes, safety (OSHA) rules, sanitation (NSF), and building codes (BOCA)
