Here at sweetgreen’s Automation Team we’re working to integrate our meal assembly automation - the Infinite Kitchen - into new restaurants. Our goals are to improve the daily routines and workflows for our restaurant staff and enable great customer experiences.

We are looking for a Field Technician - Trainee to help install our automation equipment in new and existing markets across the country.

This is a Trainee role, ideal for someone looking to learn new technical skills, working on cutting edge restaurant technology and while being supported by a great company culture and team. This is a long term, full-time hourly role, with travel time expectancy between 75% and 90%. Travel expenses, travel time and overtime are fully compensated (averaging between 5 to 20 hours a week when traveling). As a Trainee, you will work under the direct guidance and supervision of a more experienced technician. You must be able to work in construction sites and lift up to 50 lbs. All applicants must be available and eligible for different forms of travel within the United States (plane, train, bus, taxi/rideshare apps). A valid driver’s license is also required and owning a car is preferred for travel within New England.

What you’ll do:

  • Learn the process of how an Infinite Kitchen is installed
  • Assist with deployment of the Infinite Kitchen across the US
  • Assist with other automation technician tasks including refurbishment, assembly, and lab upkeep
  • Flexible schedule to work around travel necessities and construction timelines

Who you are:

  • Willing to learn and train on the job, eager to grow in a new technical field
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with tools and building projects.
  • Good with your hands, interested in mechanical assemblies and how things work.
  • Works well in small teams and with people from different backgrounds
  • Able to leave a positive impact on working culture.
  • Neat and organized on the specific worksite.
  • Flexible to last minute plan changes if the construction site’s timeline changes.
  • Available for travel up to 90% of the time

Starting salary range based on experience
$20$25 USD
