At sweetgreen, we're looking for a passionate Senior Software Engineer to be part of our Developer Platform Team. You'll be in the driver's seat, empowering developers to work as efficiently as possible while simultaneously raising the quality bar.

Your Role:

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will:

• Develop systems that automate everything needed to build, test, and scale our applications.
• Work with other engineering teams to create scalable tools and infrastructure.
• Lead continuous integration & deployment efforts, infrastructure migration & improvements, and work on all things related to our engineering platform, including tools that our operations team uses to manage our restaurants.
• Drive standards with Lead Engineers and the rest of the department.
• Make architectural decisions that facilitate the work of our teams and our business as a whole.

Qualifications and Experience

We're looking for engineers who are familiar with:

• Monorepos (we use the NX framework)
• Testing (Playwright for e2e, Jest for unit-tests and integration tests, k6 for load testing)
• AWS and Infrastructure as code (terraform, terragrunt, atlantis)
• CI/CD Best Practices
• Event Driven Architecture

With the following traits:

• Passionate about the developer experience
• Enjoys the act of supporting and teaching other engineers

Having knowledge about the following topics will be beneficial:

• NestJS
• Ruby, Rails
• Expo and react-native
• Docker
• CircleCI
• Salesforce
• General knowledge of the fast-casual restaurant industry, and SAAS vendors in the industry (OLO, LevelUp, Paytronix, Brink)

Our Tech Stack

Our primary tech stack includes Node (Typescript) for both our frontend and backend, NestJS for backend, and React-native + Expo for frontend. These projects live in our monorepo, powered by NX. We have 1 legacy project that uses Ruby on Rails, and several legacy projects using either Express or the serverless framework. Our AWS infrastructure is managed via Terraform using terragrunt and atlantis, and lives in a separate infrastructure monorepo.

Goals and Expectations

Within 90 days, you'll have developed a comprehensive understanding of our engineering processes and begun to implement improvements that reduce friction and raise the quality & reliability of our engineering delivery pipeline.
