WHO YOU ARE:

The Consultant is responsible for supporting the implementation, modifications and deployment of e-business order entry solutions in the Life and Annuity insurance domain. This role works on Zinnia Exchange products—AnnuityNet, LifeSpeed - and iPipeline’s AFFIRM—for US-based clients. Zinnia’s client base includes over 65 major insurance carriers, as well as distributors such as broker-dealers, captive agents, and banks. Engagements range from small production enhancements to large-scale, complex digital transformations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

You will be responsible for developing, coding, and maintaining software modules/systems and required to modify existing software products or develop entirely new modules as per technical specifications in response to business requirements. The Consultant will support one or both of the following project types. Experience in both is a plus.

1) Annuity & Life Product Modeling

  • Gather and analyze business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Translate business requirements into product build specifications.
  • Model and maintain carrier products in accordance with IRI/ACORD standards, including:
  • PPfA / PPfL
  • DPfA / DPfL
  • VTXml or manual XML modeling
  • Configure products, features, distribution agreements, commissions, funds, ownerships, and complex product rules.
  • Test product functionality on order entry platforms.
  • Support deployments to test and production environments.
  • Analyze and resolve production issues.
  • Provide ongoing support to carriers, distributors, and internal teams on product modeling questions and

2) Forms & Carrier Questions Enablement

  • Gather and analyze requirements related to forms and carrier questions.
  • Develop and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Perform form gap analysis and identify required carrier question builds.
  • Create, configure, and activate custom carrier or distributor questions.
  • Maintain carrier and distributor forms, including tagging and generation rules.
  • Support implementation of e-Signature functionality.
  • Edit or create Forms XML using XMLSpy for forms libraries and generation rules.
  • Tag forms using Adobe Acrobat, Named Items, or iPipeline AFFIRM XPath.
  • Create and maintain Common Maps for AFFIRM using XML macro language.
  • Test forms and carrier questions across order entry platforms.
  • Support deployments to test and production environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Provide support to carriers, distributors, and internal teams on forms and carrier question issues

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and consulting skills, with the ability to understand the “why” behind client needs
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to delivery timelines
  • Ability to translate business needs into application and operational requirements
  • Strong Business Analyst capabilities, including:
  • Requirements gathering
  • Documentation
  • Needs analysis
  • Test creation and execution
  • Familiarity with life insurance or annuity operations, including origination, distribution, and/or in-force policy administration.

BONUS POINTS:

  • Experience with annuity order entry platforms (e.g., Zinnia AnnuityNet, iPipeline AFFIRM) or life insurance eApp platforms (e.g., Zinnia LifeSpeed).
  • Knowledge of ACORD standards, XML forms management, VTXml, and XML product modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • PPfA, PPfL, DPfA, DPfL
  • XMLSpy, XPath, XML macro language
  • Adobe Acrobat PDF form tagging and editing
