Schedule: Hybrid (3 Days In Office / 2 Days Remote After Onboarding)
Salary: $125,000 – $155,000

Our client is a Top 400 CPA Firm and a four-time Best Places to Work in New Jersey recipient that is expanding its Tax Practice due to continued growth. They are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to serve as a trusted advisor to clients while leading engagements, mentoring staff, and helping strengthen an already successful tax team.
This role offers the opportunity to work directly with Partners on complex tax matters while building leadership skills through structured professional development programs. What You'll Do
- Manage a diverse portfolio of individual, partnership, corporate, trust, and pass-through entity tax engagements from planning through completion.
- Serve as the primary client contact, providing proactive tax planning, consulting, and strategic advice.
- Review complex tax returns and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations while identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities.
- Conduct and oversee tax research, prepare technical memorandums, and advise clients on complex tax matters.
- Manage engagement budgets, staffing, billing, collections, and project timelines to ensure exceptional client service.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Senior Accountants and Staff Accountants by providing coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with Partners on business development, client relationship management, and identifying additional service opportunities.
- Assist with ASC 740 (FAS 109/FIN 48) tax accruals and support complex consulting engagements as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 5–8 years of public accounting tax experience
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) required
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong experience with corporate, partnership, and pass-through taxation
- Excellent communication, client management, and project management skills
Preferred
- Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation
- Experience with UltraTax, Intelliconnect, GoFileRoom, or similar tax software
- Experience leading multiple client engagements simultaneously

Busy Season: Approximately 52–56 hours per week during peak filing periods, with increased flexibility and hybrid scheduling outside of tax season.
