THE ROLE

We are looking for a distinguished General Manager to play a key role in standing up property operations and operational structure, including the hands on implementation of all back-end and access systems, brand collateral and messaging for guest spaces in partnership with Regional Director of Operations. Our General Manager takes pride in owning all aspects of their managed units, employee engagement, and property performance metrics and contributions to revenue. The ideal person enjoys being hands-on and cultivating a service oriented culture with a highly motivated and energetic on-site team of salary and hourly employees across the market.

AT MINT HOUSE YOU WILL

  • Lead the establishment of property operations and operational structure, including the hands-on implementation of backend and access systems, brand collateral, and messaging for guest spaces in collaboration with the Regional Director of Operations.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to strategize on maximizing revenue opportunities while utilizing forecasts to develop operational needs to deliver to our guests.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly pod call meetings to discuss Revenue and Sales forecasting, as well as operational requirements.
  • Responsible for the preparation, presentation, and subsequent achievement of the hotel’s annual Operating Budget, Marketing, and Sales Plan and Capital Budget.
  • Serve as a conduit for owner relationships, funneling up and down communications as necessary as well as performance presentations as needed.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of P&L statements, enabling the formulation of impactful strategies and the ability to effectively communicate and showcase insights to the Regional Director of Operations and the team.
  • Oversee all talent acquisition efforts for all property operation roles within the market; responsible for onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Cultivate a service-oriented culture that amplifies diverse voices and fosters an inclusive work environment with a highly motivated and energetic on-site team.
  • Own all aspects of market operations and hold themselves accountable through a combination of customer reviews, employee engagement, hotel performance metrics and contributions to revenue.
  • Foster and maintain close work relationships with HQ, facilitating effective communication and collaboration to promote feedback, cross-training, and efficient operations.
  • Hire, oversee, motivate, and train team members on all Mint House’s SOPs and programs; provide on-going communication to the team in order to deliver our guests with a personalized, authentic experience.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings within vendor relationships, explore alternative products and suppliers, optimize operational processes, evaluate staffing models, and implement strategies to maximize overall efficiency and achieve high performance results.
  • Understand and practice local and state regulations pertaining to short term rentals.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven track record of leading full operations as a hotel General Manager, with a strong emphasis on working closely with owners and effectively managing P&L statements. Pre-opening hotel experience is considered a plus.
  • Significant experience in managing both salary and hourly employees, overseeing teams of up to 12-15 associates.
  • Demonstrated hands-on leadership, with a commitment to supporting and developing team members through active coaching.
  • Ability to cultivate, manage, and own high-level relationships both on-site and with external partners.
  • Exemplifies Mint House's core values in all interactions and leads by example.
  • Proficient in concise communication, capable of proposing clear and achievable paths forward and adept at problem-solving.
  • Proven track record of driving team performance, making effective decisions to exceed budgetary goals while maintaining exceptional service levels, and familiarity with hotel P&Ls and operations.
  • High energy levels and dedication to Mint House's mission of transforming traditional hotel models and defining a new category of residential hospitality.
  • Possesses an earnest and flexible attitude, adaptable to policy and procedural changes.
  • Strong process-oriented skill set for effectively managing vendor relationships, including housekeeping, linen/laundry, maintenance, etc.
  • Experience in recruiting and onboarding new employees to scale an elite team.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to manage all inventory of systems and products such as keypads, locks, and key access boxes.

Compensation Range: $120,000 - $130,000 USD

Mint Houses' compensation philosophy is driven by our company value of fostering inclusivity. To best ensure pay equity, we typically bring in fresh mints near the middle of our listed compensation bands and lead with the best overall compensation package (i.e. all people hired at the same experience & level are brought in at the same salary, equity, and benefits).
