The Role:

Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to enhance operational accounting functions within the local plant, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and fostering cost-efficiency. Provide direct oversight and alignment with corporate financial objectives under the guidance of the Corporate Controller.

Strategic Partnership and Leadership:

Foster collaboration with local plant leadership to address strategic and tactical challenges, promoting alignment with corporate vision. Assist in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing plant-level budgets, forecasts, and performance results in coordination with local and corporate leadership. Partner with senior analysts, setting objectives, and monitoring performance to ensure effective cost management.

Financial Management, Analysis and Controls:

Ensure adherence to US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) within the plant's financial operations.

Ensure processes are efficiently built and documented to ensure alignment across the organization.

Implement process improvements in areas of purchasing, inventory control and manufacturing cycle.

Support improvements in month-end processes and system integrity.

Manage vendor payment processes and oversee capital budgets for facilities, including conducting ROI analysis and assessing cash flow impact.

Maintain fixed asset schedules for production and research facilities and administer internal controls in collaboration with plant leadership.

Ensure compliance with local and state tax requirements, maintaining accurate records and timely filings to mitigate risk.

Perform all tasks associated with the general ledger, i.e. entering month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close journal entries, executing month end plant review and assist in preparation of financial statements.

Ensure audit readiness and effectively support internal and external audit processes.

Coordinating the completion of the balance sheet account analysis and related reconciliations.

Review cost center and chart of account structures and make recommendations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.

Previous experience as a plant controller in a manufacturing environment with expertise in cost accounting.

Proficiency in strategic analysis of complex data sets, with experience in the food manufacturing industry and familiarity with NetSuite preferred.

Strong integrity, work ethic, and mathematical/statistical aptitude.

Excellent communication skills to convey complex accounting concepts across all levels of the organization.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and demonstrate strong leadership in driving results.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a self-motivated work style.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $158,000 annually, which is just one aspect of our total compensation package. In addition to the salary, this position is eligible for a potential annual bonus and equity! Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
