On April 1st, 2023, MLP completed a leadership transition with a renewed focus on improving asset utilization, creating added value for our residents, visitors, and shareholders, and growing our positive impact on Maui. To support this renewed effort, we are seeking a highly motivated Real Estate Development & Asset Manager to join our team in Maui, Hawaii.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have experience with the management of property portfolios and executing real estate strategies across a variety of residential or commercial projects. The Development & Asset Manager will be responsible for tasks related to the portfolio’s stewardship and project success including the financial modeling, planning, design, entitlement, permitting, sales, marketing, close-out, reporting, and asset management.

The Development & Asset Manager will have the ability to effectively operating within various teams including with partners, consultants, and stakeholders to achieve a project's success while simultaneously building positive company reputation with all parties. The role is community and market facing, playing an important role in building trust as we improve our asset utilization.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with the Vice President of Real Estate to implement MLP’s real estate strategy
  • Create and refine financial proformas, feasibility and sensitivity analyses
  • Work with development partners, capital partners, tenants, and other stakeholders
  • Manage planners, architects and engineers to envision and design projects
  • Guide the development, construction, marketing, sale, and lease of properties

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

  • Understanding of land use, development, and asset management in Hawaii
  • Understanding of cultural and natural resources unique to Maui
  • 2 - 5+ years of experience in real estate management or development in Hawaii
  • Education in real estate development, business, management, engineering, or related fields
  • Professional interaction with team members, stakeholders, government officials and staff
  • Management, problem-solving, financial, and analytical skills
  • “Can-do” attitude, pro-active and resourceful
  • Respectful, trustworthy, and humble personality traits
  • Strong attention to detail
