KLDiscovery, one of the largest national eDiscovery providers, is currently seeking a Data Center Maintenance Operations Technician to support our corporate business systems across the 1,300-person global company.
The position will report to the Director of Data Center Operations and has the responsibility for ensuring effective installation as well as operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment for maximum uptime.

Responsibilities
- Commitment to excellence, attention to detail and organizational skills are critical components for this job. Flexibility and responsiveness to changing situations will be required.
- Administer all service requests and provide resolutions to achieve required goals
- Candidate needs to understand and be able to solve a wide array of problems with all types of data center hardware and software on the fly, or in an emergency
- Install servers and network equipment into cabinets and racks
- CAT6, single-mode, and multi-mode fiber cabling installations and support
- Cabinet power load and consumption measurements
- Inventory control for servers, components and cables using DCIM software
- Use of an automated ticket system to organize work requests
- Planning and coordination of equipment migrations and new equipment installations
- Develop detailed documentation of operations, best practices, and procedures
- Proactively and independently work on projects as needed
- Receive and ship inventory as required
- Monitor and maintain all Power sources that are part of the Data Center Operations Globally and all Global IT Office locations
- Understanding of cable plant designs and fundamental of various category (CAT) cabling standards and fiber cabling from a patching needs and requirement. Understanding of structured cabling systems.
- Security Systems Monitoring and Maintenance
- Participation in an on-call rotation is required
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of year of working experience in data center facilities and infrastructure including power, cabling, and rack management design.
- High school diploma required. Post-secondary education in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of networking, server and cable hardware
- Experienced with customer interaction and relations
- Experienced with vendor relations on a professional level
- Cover weekend testing events as needed
- Very organized and detail oriented, with high degree of accuracy and follow-up
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (MS Office experience)
- Self-motivated, reliable team player
- Ability to work in collaborative high-pressure environment
- Must possess desire to learn new technologies
- Consistently work to enhance system performance and systems availability
- Preferred knowledge of ERP systems to generate purchase orders and manage invoices
- May require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation (travel between office locations required).
- Requires general understanding of building electrical and mechanical systems supporting the data center operations. Licensed electrician a plus.
