Job Description

KLDiscovery, a leading global provider of electronic discovery, information governance and data recovery services, is currently seeking an Engineering Services Technician (Shipping/Receiving) for an exciting new opportunity.

This person will receive incoming data recovery jobs, inventory, and supplies and ship outbound data recovery jobs, inventory, and supplies while keeping records of materials sent. They will manage requisitions and store materials to maintain stock, maintain the warehouse to provide a clean and safe environment for all, and perform backup operations for returning data and verify media selection. They will perform media imaging, locate, or procure parts, remove disk assemblies from casings and laptops or exchange failing parts to accomplish a task and perform internal archiving of data images. They will learn to properly use and understand Ontrack software, hardware tools, and systems as needed to diagnose customer hardware, replicate media, and analyze data structures. All job task information will be entered into business systems for data recovery procedures performed. This cross-functional position will provide assistance or take full responsibility for work being performed in any aspect of Data Recovery (DR) engineering services and shipping/receiving operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform shipping and receiving functions for the entire DR group
  • Recognize different computer equipment and any storage media types (i.e. hard drives, tape cartridges, etc.) & disassemble computers to remove media and properly label the equipment and media pursuant to Ontrack policies and procedures
  • Ship out equipment and supplies
  • Requisitions and stores materials to maintain stock
  • Record keeping
  • General housekeeping
  • Backing up of customer data to requested media
  • Diagnosing / Imaging various types of customer media for Data Recovery
  • Exchange / procure parts for failed customer devices
  • Communicate clearly and precisely, both orally and written, on status of DR jobs
  • The responsibilities of this role may require the individual to be part of an on-call program which may require 24/7 availability from time to time as needed
  • Long hours and shift work are a requirement to meet the deadlines of DR projects
  • Receive incoming inventory and supplies

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Norwegian & English (Written and Spoken)
  • Norwegian Citizenship Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Up to three years technical/computer related experience (Professional or Personal)
  • Backup software and email system knowledge/experience desired
  • Experience with assembling and disassembling computer hardware
  • Advanced attention to detail and Multi tasking
  • Basic ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills necessary to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Basic ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving, fast-paced environment
  • Basic background and proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Basic understanding of computer equipment and storage media types

We use market and industry data to inform pay decisions while considering geography and labor markets, individual experience, and business needs. Individual compensation will vary, although a reasonable estimate of the current annualized base pay range for this position is 325,000 to 400,000 NOK.
