This role will independently handle routine contract administration tasks and begin taking on first-pass review and redlining work under moderate supervision.

This position is a good fit for someone who has a strong foundation in contract administration, is comfortable working across teams, and wants to continue developing experience in government contracting, commercial agreements, SaaS/DaaS terms, subcontract support, and contract operations.

Location: This role is expected to be hybrid in Syracuse, NY or Washington, DC, with 2 days in office and 3 days remote each week. Additional in-office attendance may be needed for onboarding, training, program support, manufacturing or operations coordination, or business priorities.

Responsibilities:

The Contracts Manager I will support routine government, commercial, and manufacturing-related contract actions using approved templates, playbooks, and approval paths. Responsibilities may include:

  • Administering routine contract actions, including modifications, options, funding actions, task orders, subcontract actions, and closeout support.
  • Supporting review of RFP/RFQ terms, FAR/DFARS applicability, flow-down requirements, reps and certs, and subcontract packages.
  • Processing customer order forms, NDAs, bailment agreements, simple SOWs/change orders, vendor SaaS orders, and click-through/clickwrap reviews.
  • Performing first-pass review and redlining of teaming agreements, subcontract documents, and other contract-related legal documents within approved templates and playbooks.
  • Maintaining contract files, repositories, trackers, and key contract dates, including deliverables, CDRLs, renewals, option windows, and closeout milestones.
  • Creating and updating purchase requisitions tied to contract actions, vendor support, subcontract packages, program requirements, or manufacturing-related support.
  • Assisting Accounting with invoice questions, billing backup, contract-term confirmation, and related documentation as needed.
  • Assisting Service Operations with lease-related contract review coordination and escalation of legal or business issues.
  • Coordinating with Legal, Finance, Accounting, Program Management, Procurement, Service Operations, Security/Privacy, Export/Trade, Business Development/Sales, customers, vendors, and partners.
  • Escalating non-standard terms, higher-risk issues, or matters outside approved authority before moving forward.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
  • Able to manage multiple contract actions under tight timelines with limited supervision.
  • Practical, agile, and able to work under pressure while maintaining sound judgment.
  • Clear communicator who can work effectively with Legal, Finance, Accounting, Program Management, Procurement, Operations, Security/Privacy, and Business Development/Sales stakeholders.
  • Curious, collaborative, and able to earn trust across disciplines and levels.
  • Able to identify when an issue needs to be escalated for review.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in contracts management, procurement, legal support, supply chain, manufacturing operations support, or a related administrative role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of contract terminology, contract lifecycle stages, FAR/DFARS basics, standard commercial terms, manufacturing-related contracting or operations support, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, responsiveness, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Accounting, Program Management, Procurement, Operations, Security/Privacy, and Business Development/Sales stakeholders.
  • Secret clearance required at hire or must be obtained within 6 months of hire; ability to maintain clearance required. U.S. Person status required for ITAR-controlled work.
