As a Principal Avionics Engineer, you will be responsible for requirements generation and decomposition, architecture development, build, integration, and test of avionics hardware systems associated with our data-acquisition stack, compute stack, and network architecture. You will be responsible for internal cross-functional collaboration as well as collaboration with external supplies and partners for avionics component selection, procurement, and integration

Responsibilities

Avionics System Design and Integration
Lead the design, development, and integration of avionics systems for high-speed aircraft, including the data-acquisition stack, compute stack, and network architecture
Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integratino of avionics systems with aircraft subsystems
Technical Expertise and Innovation
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in avionics technologies, tools, and techniques relevant to high-speed aircraft
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the avionics engineering team, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing
Cross-functional collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, and software, to ensure integration of avionics systems into the overall aircraft architecture
Collaborate with external suppliers and partners for avionics component selection, procurement, and integration

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
Extensive experience (7 years) in avionics engineering
Proven track record in designing, developing, and certifying avionics systems for aerospace applications
Deep understanding of avionics technologies, systems engineering principles, and industry standards (e.g. DO-178, DO-254)
