About the Position
The People Generalist is an integral part of the People team, providing operational support to the People Partners. The ideal candidate is experienced in project management, as well as HR processes and metrics for performance data, in addition to experience as an operational partner across multiple disciplines of HR (e.g., employee engagement, employee relations, training and development, developing DEIBA programs, etc.).

The People Generalist will be responsible for working across the People Team to evaluate, define, and execute on processes, policies, and procedures. In addition, the role interfaces with multiple stakeholders across FiscalNote’s global organization.
About You
The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced and challenging global environment and has a passion for partnering with People team leaders to deliver impactful cross-discipline solutions. The People Generalist will be skilled in elevating and maturing how talent delivers value to the business by taking a strategic lens in how we deliver value to the organization. This may include driving business transformations, designing HR policies and processes, being strong in influencing and mentoring others, and building strong relationships with leaders and employees. We need an HR thought leader who can balance the need to be a strategic, data-driven business partner along with a roll up your sleeves attitude. Experience in a high-growth organization and/or tech firm is a plus as is a leadership role in a multinational organization.
The People Team is responsible for the entirety of the team member life cycle by:
-Developing diverse pipelines of top tier talent and ensuring a positive candidate experience from the first touchpoint, and collaborating with the brand team to execute all the company's employer branding strategies
-Onboarding new talent (whether joining organically or through acquisition) in a way that fosters excitement and enthusiasm, and in which the company’s culture, priorities, policies and Employee Value Proposition are reinforced
-Ensuring employee engagement through a positive work environment that fosters appropriate opportunities for Learning & Development and career advancement
-Leveraging company equity (in a manner consistent with required public company processes) in order to ensure that all team members have a meaningful ownership stake in the business and are appropriately motivated to take action and collaborate in order to achieve company-wide success
-Advising leaders across the company on workforce planning, organizational development and core management issues
Providing a balanced compensation and benefits package in each jurisdiction where we operate that is consistent with employee needs, company values, and profitability targets
-Leveraging company equity (in a manner consistent with required public company processes) in order to ensure that all team members have a meaningful ownership stake in the business and are appropriately motivated to take action and collaborate in order to achieve company-wide success
-Supporting employees with effective systems and platforms (e.g., HRIS), as well as clear, accessible policies and standard operating procedures
-Evaluating potential acquisitions and leading HR related integration processes in the context of an active M&A program
-Complying with obligations under laws and regulations applicable to each phase of the team member life cycle

What To Expect In This Position

  • Project Management & Communications
  • Coordinate across the People team to manage select strategic project plans that are recurring or initiative driven;
  • Create and maintain project plan materials for the People team through various software platforms such as: Monday, 15Five or Google Suite
  • Assist in preparing, delivering, and reviewing department communications;
  • Support various HR projects, deliverables, and special initiatives.
  • People Team Strategy, Employee Engagement and Learning & Development
  • Support performance, recognition, and rewards processes, including preparing materials, providing training, handling communication and following-up as needed to ensure timely completion;
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments;
  • Support solutions in close partnership with a team of People Partners by identifying strategic and tactical learning solutions based needs and organizational strategy;
  • Actively participate in establishing and achieving talent and organization-related objectives by assisting partners in developing and implementing talent development solutions;
  • Assist in the execution of employee engagement programs and foster the company's culture ensuring initiatives are promoted and delivered.
  • People Operations
  • Assist with onboarding, off-boarding and all employee life cycle activities as needed;
  • Ensure department’s intranet pages, static communications and guides provide employees with current information about People policies, programs, and procedures. Expand the relevancy of the department site by creating content for employees globally
  • Develop, implement and enforce department processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide recommendations to improve process efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with global employment laws including federal, state and local employment laws and staying up-to-date with changes.

What Sets you Apart

  • Minimum of three (3) years of operational support in a high speed, high growth People team working environment supporting a global workforce
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organization development or related field or equivalent experience
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential or equivalent is a plus
  • Proficiency in multiple human resource disciplines, including employee, diversity, performance management, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, learning and development, and International employment laws is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
  • High integrity, must be objective and exercise confidentiality and discretion.
