About the Position
We are looking for an experienced sales leader that specializes in building high-performing Sales Development teams. In the role of Sales Development Manager, you will lead a team of 8-10 Sales Development Representatives (SDR) and will be responsible for measuring, overseeing, and holding SDRs accountable for their daily activities, results, and professional development. Although Fiscalnote is based out of Washington, DC. our Sales Development group is remote first as we have SDRs located across the country. You must be comfortable in leading and managing groups within this type of environment. This is a key role within the Sales Development leadership group and will be instrumental in helping us build a world-class SDR organization.

About You
Motivating, empathetic, a critical thinker, and metrics minded. An obvious mentor for ambitious SDRs looking to build successful careers in business development. Consistent in expectations, fair in assessments, and able to have difficult, constructive conversations about performance, strategy and tactics. Excited by the ability to tap into a huge, valuable segment of the market and turn both hot and cold leads into revenue opportunities for the company.

What To Expect In This Position

  • Manage, motivate, and evaluate a team of SDRs
  • Conduct weekly team meetings and 1 on 1’s to keep the team tracking towards monthly and quarterly goals (or biweekly) (weekly coaching sessions)
  • Track key data points such as SDR activity, meetings set and held, and opportunities created
  • Measure and improve qualification and conversion rates
  • Develop and coach SDRs in their careers, preparing them for roles of increasing responsibility and scope
  • Work extensively with sales and marketing automation platforms (Salesforce, SalesLoft, Marketo)
  • Provide sales mentorship to SDRs
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales leadership to identify and implement improvements to our demand-generation process (especially when following up to interested prospects)

What Sets You Apart:

  • 3+ years of demonstrated success in closing and prospecting sales roles as an individual contributor (strong understanding of top-of-funnel and the full cycle process)
  • 2+ years of meaningful leadership experience with a strong track record in talent development
  • Experience working with Sales Automation (Salesforce) and Marketing Automation Tools (Marketo, Pardot, eloqua, etc)
  • Strong Salesforce acumen and experience
  • Prospecting, Cold Calling, and Direct selling/closing experience (software or services strongly preferred)
  • Experience collaborating with the marketing team's demand-generation operation
  • Success in overachieving quotas and targets
  • Ability to develop talent
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and people management skills
  • Mentoring and coaching experience
