About the Position

As our Fabric Manager, you will work hand in hand with the Fabric Team along side with Director of Sourcing, Design and Product Development to both define and drive business through Materials. The job is a healthy mix of fabric strategy, creative sourcing, material development, cost seasonal planning, color management, material testing & compliance.

We are looking for a candidate who has experience in Fabric development, R&D – who understands the big picture in the garment lifecycle and knows where/how cost and delivery play a part.

In this role, you will own and drive all Men’s Fabrications from R&D all the way through Bulk approval and testing.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive, passionate team player who is an Organized, Multi-faceted fabric-driven strategist at heart. The ideal candidate values the importance of teamwork, work ethic.

  • Work with Design to research Materials for each season and communicate selections to all cross-functioning teams.
  • Managed Fabric Charts seasonally to track developments and approval status.
  • Ensure all vendor relationships and communications with Internal and external partnerships are clear & consistent.
  • Request all necessary information for PLM updates and MDS
  • Request, Follow-up and Issue color & Print comments accordingly.
  • Review Material costing and delivery/damage concerns to ensure we maintain IMU Goals and delivery goals.
  • Strategized processes with Fabric to continually improve communication and level set expectations between mills and design.
  • organizational tasks and maintaining the archive/library
  • Attended design meetings, and vendor appointment to select new qualities, current production.
  • Prepared & ship color palettes, millcards, to be distributed to teams when requested
  • Proactively identifies costing challenges or MOQ issues & creative suggestions to improve or redevelop to reach IMU goals w/in our Mill Matrix
  • Be on the forefront of the latest fabric technology, sutainability efforts and trend and offer new insights on how to add or suggest how to add.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in textile engineering, textile design, fashion design, apparel merchandising, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in fabric sourcing, development, and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing fabric vendors, negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and launching new fabric designs or innovations.
  • Experience working with a variety of fabrics, including natural fibers and technical fabrics is highly desirable.
  • In-depth understanding of fabric construction, properties, and performance characteristics.
  • Familiarity with different fabric dyeing and finishing processes, including environmental and sustainability considerations.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to fabric quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Strong sourcing skills with the ability to identify and evaluate fabric suppliers globally.
  • Experience managing fabric sourcing logistics, including lead times, costing, and inventory management.
  • Understanding of supply chain dynamics and ability to optimize processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple fabric development projects simultaneously.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with design, product development, and production departments.
  • Proven ability to meet project deadlines and deliver results within budgetary constraints.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze fabric performance data and make informed decisions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to conduct thorough fabric quality assessments and inspections.

Salary range:
$75,000$90,000 USD
