Assistant Controller
At Dispatch, we’re redefining last-mile logistics—and this role sits at the center of that transformation. As Senior Product Manager, Customers & Orders, you’ll own the entire buyer journey—from first touch to long-term growth—shaping how businesses discover, trust, and scale with Dispatch.
You will lead the evolution of a two-sided marketplace experience, balancing the needs of self-serve SMBs and complex enterprise customers. This role blends strategy, execution, and deep customer empathy to drive marketplace demand and revenue growth.

What You’ll Drive (Key Accountabilities + Responsibilities)

  • Own the monthly financial close process and ensure timely, accurate financial statement preparation
  • Lead balance sheet completion and accuracy, ensuring all accounts are reconciled monthly in accordance with GAAP
  • Serve as the in-house expert on technical accounting standards including ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing—covering pay, taxation, benefits calculations, and reconciliations—in partnership with HR
  • Drive tax compliance across Federal, State, and Local requirements for payroll and sales/use tax
  • Improve AR management, aging, and collections; manage and negotiate AP lead times with key suppliers
  • Lead external audit processes, ensuring proper documentation and execution across Finance & Accounting
  • Partner with the VP of Finance, CFO, and Dispatch leadership to prioritize financial strategies aligned with company growth
  • Communicate and present financial results to key audiences including board meetings, company updates, and investor reports
  • Establish short- and long-term action plans for operational efficiency, including cost-saving and revenue enhancement opportunities
  • Mentor and develop accounting team talent, fostering accountability, inclusion, and high performance

What You Bring (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior experience mentoring, managing, or leading high-performing teams
  • Deep expertise in GAAP, financial close processes, and balance sheet management
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718, SOX compliance)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to senior and executive audiences
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in NetSuite, Google Suite, and Microsoft Suite
  • Comfortable using AI-based tools for analysis, automation, or decision support (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance

Pay Range: $120,000 - $145,000 per year
