Are you passionate about cybersecurity and eager to gain hands-on experience in protecting digital assets and sensitive information? As a Cyber Security Analyst Intern, you’ll play an integral role in identifying, mitigating, and monitoring threats to Dispatch’s systems, applications, and data. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the cybersecurity team, gain real-world exposure to security operations, and make a meaningful impact on our cybersecurity strategy.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT (should you choose us and we choose you!)

• Monitor and analyze security alerts generated by intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, and endpoint protection platforms.
• Conduct basic security incident investigations and escalate incidents as needed.
• Assist in integrating security tools and practices into CI/CD pipelines to enable secure continuous delivery.
• Support vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and audits to ensure compliance with security policies.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and refine security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Research emerging cybersecurity threats and recommend potential solutions or improvements.
• Support efforts to maintain and enhance the company’s security awareness program.
• Assist with data logging, reporting, and performance analysis for security tools and systems.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM & DISPATCH

• Basic understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and operating systems (Apple, Windows, Linux).
• Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, antivirus software, firewalls, pen-testing, and vulnerability scanning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills/Abilities/Experience:

• Hands-on experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Previous coursework or certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH).
• Understanding of security frameworks like OWASP, SAST/DAST tools, and compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Exposure to security tools such as SonarQube, Snyk, or Checkmarx.

Internship Details

• Pay: $20/hour
• Duration: May 19, 2024 - August 15, 2024
• Work Hours: 30-40 hours per week
