Event Services Supervisor | The Mallory, NYC

Location: Manhattan NYC (West Chelsea)

Hours: Full-time (40 hours)

Schedule: Seeking flexible availability due to varying event calendar. Monday through Friday, Nights, and Weekends as needed

Compensation: $27/hour with eligibility for overtime any hours worked over 40 in a week (time and a half)

As a member of The Mallory's opening team, you'll play a key role in bringing one of New York City's most exciting new event venues to life. The Event Services Supervisor supports the day-to-day execution of events by partnering with our Event Producers, cross-functional teams, vendors, and catering partners to deliver seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences. This role is highly visible and hands-on, requiring an active presence on the venue floor throughout setup, execution, and breakdown while supervising our in-house hourly event staff and coordinating with catering partners. The ideal candidate is organized, solutions-oriented, and energized by being in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment with a wide range of event types and evolving operational needs.

What You’ll Do:

Reporting to the Event Services Manager and the General Manager, the Event Services Supervisor supports the day-to-day execution of venue operations by coordinating event setups and supervising the on-shift event services team. This role helps ensure each space is prepared for successful events from setup through breakdown while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Event Operations & Team Supervision

  • Supervise and direct in-house hourly event staff during setup, event execution, and breakdown.
  • Coordinate event setups, furniture placement, staging, deliveries, load-ins/outs, and venue readiness according to event orders and floor plans.
  • Partner with vendors, catering teams, property management, and internal departments to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Serve as an on-site operational resource during events, resolving day-of issues and ensuring event spaces remain safe, organized, and guest-ready.
  • Conduct pre- and post-event walkthroughs, monitor inventory, and report maintenance or supply needs.

Communication & Coordination

  • Communicate shift priorities and event timelines to staff while supporting training and maintaining operational standards.
  • Collaborate with Event Services Managers, Event Producers, and Operations teams to execute events successfully and communicate any changes or operational concerns.
  • Document event issues and provide feedback to support continuous improvement.

What We Look For

  • 2+ years of experience in event operations, hospitality, venue operations, or a related field.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating frontline teams in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with a guest-first mindset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
  • Physical ability to walk, stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift or move event equipment.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required.

Full Time Hourly Rate: $27/hour

This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
