We’re seeking a Conference and Events Operations Lead to join our Operations team. The Conference and Events Operations Lead will report directly to the Conference and Events Supervisor.

Please note: The candidate must currently reside in the UK and be able to work in the UK without sponsorship.

What You’ll Do:

As a Conference and Events Operations Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of all programs, while maintaining a profitable operation and high-quality products and service levels. Conference and Events Operations Leads are also expected to share ideas to promote business and assist with scheduling and leading the service team. In this role, you will use Convene’s Core Values to guide your day-to-day and ensure our clients have a wonderful experience.

  • Set up the service of culinary in a quick and efficient manner for participants and ensure that it follows the Program Execution Order
  • Coordinate culinary service between the culinary team and service team
  • Monitor inventory and keep culinary informed of accurate counts
  • Follow health and safety regulations and ensure sanitation and cleanliness of service areas
  • Manage opening and/or closing inspection duties
  • Ensure positive overall client satisfaction
  • Ability to interact with guests and/or associates in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner
  • Set up, replenish, maintain, and breakdown Food and Beverage stations
  • Accommodate special client needs and last-minute requests
  • Read, understand, and execute Program Execution Orders
  • Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling
  • Have full knowledge of menus, recipes, and other pertinent information
  • Perform opening, mid-shift, and closing duties in accordance with company standards
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times
  • Maintain professional working relationships with the team
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What We Look For:

  • Strong knowledge of service standards, and different service types
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
  • Proficient in multitasking
  • A food Hygiene or Food Handling Certificate preferred
