DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Overview
Catalyte has a proven track record of developing talent in Software development, Digital Media, IT Services, and more. We’re expanding our Software development offering and we’re looking for an experienced software development professional to lead the execution of the development training program across multiple cohorts.
You will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day development of our software apprentices and ensure they are set up for success to enter into software development careers. You will be curating online development resources, conducting lectures and/or group discussions of the material, and checking in with apprentices regularly to ensure the material is resonating. You will assign and monitor all individual and group assignments, answering any questions and ensuring timely completion against a deadline. You will be responsible for grading all planned assessments as well as monitoring an individual’s progress throughout the program. You must be comfortable assessing individual skill sets based on the graduation criteria and mentoring/coaching them accordingly over the duration of the program. You must be comfortable managing a team - conducting regular 1:1s, providing actionable feedback and evaluating both technical and non-technical skills to determine if apprentices should successfully graduate the development program.
A proven history of success in a software development role is key, as providing real world, on-the-job scenarios for these specific roles during development is vital.

This role is a contract position with the potential to convert to full time employment.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the execution of multiple software development training cohorts, including facilitating all development needs as well as coaching/mentoring adults on both technical and soft skills
Contribute to the development of curriculum materials as needed and collaborate with the training team on what’s working, what’s not and how we can do it better
Provide guidance and mentorship to associates in the program regarding soft skills development with transparent and fair coaching opportunities
Scale and enhance program to support additional growth areas as needed
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
4-5+ years of professional software development experience
Strong understanding of fundamental software development concepts, including front end, back end, databases, testing and scrum/agile methodologies
Experience with Java/Spring boot is a plus
Experience with React is a plus
Understanding of the software testing process and SDLC
Experience with a cloud environment (AWS or Azure) is a plus
Strong management and team enablement skills
Proven track record of mentoring and developing junior talent
Strong presentation skills, with experience creating decks in PowerPoint
