Are you ready to help us design and build our LaserWeeder that solve real problems in our food supply?

An Electrical Engineer, Wiring Harness at Carbon Robotics will work with the team that designs and lays out Wiring Harness electrical systems, testing new systems and iterating on designs with your mechanical and software peers. You’ll work with schematics and sub-system integrations into CAD, and provide manufacturing support to our CM partners. You’ll do whatever it takes - which might include going to the farm - to ensure our customers have reliable and safe products.

What you’ll do:

  • Work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team to design revolutionary Laser Weeding product
  • Quickly prototype, troubleshoot, and iterate designs with ownership and collaboration to design electrical wiring, grounding, and power distribution systems for our custom hardware
  • Drive decision through project planning, task delegation and leading problem solving efforts to reiterate quickly
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure designs that maintain industry-leading quality and reliability
  • Responsible for the design of electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signal, selection of harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wire
  • Design and integration of harness support brackets, support design configuration development and trade studies, provide technical guidance for hardware installation
  • Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses and maintain and report on activity schedule and technical status and find opportunities for improvements and operational cost and schedule savings

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:

  • 5+ years experience as Electrical Engineer designing wiring harness for large electrical systems
  • Experience with Capital Harness design software is required
  • Experience working with contract manufacturing for wiring harnesses
  • Experience with high voltage (40kV+) and/or 240V harnessing design highly preferred but not required
  • Hands on experience in hardware debug and automated verification
  • Experience with PLCs and industrial sensors/controllers a plus
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team to achieve timely objectives
  • Awareness of industry standards and regulations (SAE, ISO, IPC, etc.)
  • BS+ in Electrical Engineering or related field

The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity - paying employees equitably for similar work.

$99,090—$156,568 USD

Commercial growers of specialty and organic crops buy LaserWeeders from Carbon Robotics because they reduce weed control costs by up to 80% and increase crop quality, yields, and consistency.
