Are you ready to help us design and build our LaserWeeder that solve real problems in our food supply?

As a Quality Specialist at Carbon Robotics, you'll evaluate the financial and operational efficiency of our LaserWeeder. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, data analysis, and cost-benefit analyses to determine the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of this innovative agricultural equipment.

This role plays a crucial part in helping farmers make informed decisions regarding the adoption of this technology.

What you’ll do:

Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Collect and compile data on the laser-based weeding machinery, including purchase and operating costs, performance metrics, and related expenses.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, strengths, weaknesses, and areas of potential improvement.

Cost-Benefit Analysis:

  • Calculate the total cost of ownership for the laser weeding machinery and compare it to traditional weeding methods.
  • Assess the economic and operational benefits, including labor savings, yield improvement, and reduced chemical usage, to determine the overall cost-effectiveness.

Market Research:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and the competitive landscape for laser weeding technology and similar farming equipment.
  • Evaluate the market demand and potential return on investment for adopting laser weeding machinery.

Report Generation:

  • Prepare clear and comprehensive reports and presentations that summarize findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
  • Communicate complex technical information in an easily understandable manner for stakeholders.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, customers, and sales, to gather insights and data necessary for analysis.

Financial Modeling:

  • Develop financial models to simulate various scenarios and assess the potential outcomes of adopting laser weeding technology.


  • Provide actionable recommendations and insights to assist farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and decision-makers in making informed choices regarding the implementation of laser-based weeding machinery.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data, calculations, and analysis methods.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Business, Science or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with farm machinery, agricultural technology, and precision agriculture.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of agricultural economics and cost-benefit analysis principles is a plus.


  • Previous experience in agricultural machinery analysis or a related field is advantageous.
  • Experience in conducting cost-effectiveness studies and financial modeling is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • This position will involve a lot of travel to farms to conduct on-site assessments. Travel should be considered as much as 90% of the time.

Carbon Robotics follows equitable hiring practices. Flexibility in our hiring process allows hiring of talent at levels different from what are posted. The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity - paying employees equitably for similar work.

Carbon Robotics' base salary pay range:

$70,492—$105,743 USD

Commercial growers of specialty and organic crops buy LaserWeeders from Carbon Robotics because they reduce weed control costs by up to 80% and increase crop quality, yields, and consistency. High precision LaserWeeding is vastly superior to alternatives: labor intensive hand weeding, toxic herbicide spraying, and/or the disruptive mechanical cultivation of planted soil.

Today, Carbon Robotics LaserWeeder shoots and kills up to 200,000 weeds per hour, eliminating up to 99% of weeds, with sub-millimeter accuracy. Our AI/ML deep learning models identify a growing range of crops and weeds at all stages of growth - and our patented technology led only widens with more time, customers, and acres laserweeded.
