Senior Software Engineer, UI/UX (SIE)
Anduril
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Software Integration Environment (SIE) team is responsible for managing fleets of Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, test environments and external cloud deployments. We operate the critical infrastructure that enables Anduril to rapidly develop, test, and deploy software capabilities to the warfighter. As we scale our operations across AWS, Azure, and on-premise environments, we are building a next-generation platform experience that empowers both our internal engineering teams and external customers to deploy and manage complex cloud infrastructure with confidence and speed.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Full-stack UI/UX Developer to join our team and lead the design and development of a new platform experience for the SIE ecosystem. In this role, you will be the architect of the user-facing layer of our infrastructure platform, building intuitive, powerful interfaces that make complex cloud operations accessible to both internal developers and external customers. You will design and implement web applications that provide visibility into Kubernetes deployments, orchestrate CI/CD pipelines, manage test environments, and enable self-service infrastructure provisioning. This role requires a product-minded engineer who can translate complex infrastructure concepts into elegant user experiences while being able to assist in delivering the full-stack systems that power them. If you are passionate about developer experience, data visualization, and building tools that directly impact mission success, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION & DESIGN COLLABORATION
- Design and develop full-stack web applications for the SIE platform, including dashboards, management consoles, and configuration interfaces
- Build intuitive, responsive front-end interfaces using modern web technologies (React, TypeScript) that provide at-a-glance visibility into infrastructure health, deployments, and operations
- Develop robust back-end services and APIs (Go) to support the UI layer, integrating with Kubernetes, CI/CD systems, and cloud providers
- Create compelling data visualizations and interactive dashboards that surface metrics, logs, and deployment status across hundreds of environments
- Design user workflows for complex operations like cluster provisioning, application deployment, and environment management that serve both technical and non-technical users
- Collaborate closely with SREs, platform engineers, and external customers to understand pain points and rapidly iterate on features
- Champion UX best practices and advocate for the end-user experience in technical discussions
- Build and maintain design systems and reusable component libraries to ensure consistency across the platform
- Implement observability and monitoring into the UI layer to track user behavior and system health
- Lead the technical direction for front-end architecture, tooling, and development practices on the team
CUSTOMER & STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
- Collaborate with business lines to scope UI/engineering deliverables
- Support customer meetings and demonstrations, explaining technical capabilities and constraints
- Work with military stakeholders to ensure UI implementations support successful mission outcomes from prototyping through production phases
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or related field; or equivalent industry experience
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on UI/UX development
- Expert-level proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React for building production web applications
- Experience building full-stack applications, including back-end API development in languages such as Go, Python, or similar
- Strong understanding of UX principles, design systems, and creating intuitive user experiences for technical products
- Experience with data visualization libraries and techniques for presenting complex information clearly
- Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end from design through deployment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a bias for action and taking ownership. You have a track record of solving a problem if you see one.
- Experience maintaining continuous integration systems (CircleCI)
- Experience or interest working in monorepos with modern build systems like Bazel, Buck, Nix, etc.
- Experience or interest working in Go
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts (Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, cloud services)
- Experience with gRPC/protobuf or similar technologies
