This position is looking for a highly motivated Director of Test & Evaluation Engineering with emphasis in developmental test of a new and revolutionary Group 5 UAS, with additional experience performing test lead/manager responsibilities. You will work heavily with the program leadership and a wide spectrum of cross-departments to help build and lead a team focused on solving hard problems and changing the industry forever. The Test and Evaluation team at Anduril works across the entire spectrum of products and business lines, as well as all flight operations and test range management. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- As a Director of Test & Evaluation, you will lead a diverse group of individuals ranging from test engineering to maintenance.
- You will be executing company leadership directive, including being responsible for developing unique T&E strategies for integration, planning, execution, operations and much more.
- IPT lead responsible for test engineering, maintenance, flight operations, instrumentation and more
- Manage and guide the technical efforts of the Fury T&E Flight Test Engineers and control room personnel. You will provide direct input to test event planning, preparation, execution and reporting.
- The day-to-day focus will change often as you navigate a complex product development roadmap, but it should include opportunities such as developing a cross-functional strategy, system integration, planning and program execution.
- Oversight and guidance of all test and integration efforts at the system and subsystem levels
- You will directly contribute to periodic and milestone engineering reviews, often facilitating technical discussions between Anduril and customer representatives.
- Facilitation/creation of associated system documentation (system manuals, checklists, acceptance procedures, etc)
- Responsibility and authority are equal with skills, experience, and program objectives
- Coordination includes project and test progress status, interfacing with program leadership, preparing and maintaining technical and tactical level schedules and plans, and managing resource constraints
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Test execution responsibilities, when needed, include T&E of hardware and software with emphasis placed on resource planning, conducting ground and flight testing, process improvement/development and participating in technical test reviews.
- Directly support the Growth and Proposal team during contract shaping, capture, and expansion.
- Direct engineering activities to include team building, execution, process, and technical oversight strategies and test and evaluation creative solutions to achieve program objectives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 13+ years of experience as test conductor/director for developmental aircraft and payload integration.
- Ability to travel as required
- Experience with large UAS development
- Previous experience with and current working knowledge of DCMA INST 8210, MIL-STD-516, 14 CFR, and service related T&E guiding documents. Foundational expertise and working knowledge of the National Airspace System, government restricted airspace and UAS operating rules and regulations thereof.
- Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expansive knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.

- Experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas.
- Strong leadership skills, with previous experience in leading a team.
- Able to work extended hours as required.
- Must possess and be able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years experience in Test & Evaluation, or related technical fields.
- Been a part of the first flight of a developmental aircraft, or major aircraft system.
- Bias for action – if you see a problem, you want to solve and fix it
- Experience managing individuals or teams of multiple individuals
- Previous experience working within a Combined Test Force or equivalent
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
