What You’ll Do
- Develop electronic and electromechanical systems in a rapid paced environment.
- Develop & work with a variety of functional disciplines, control systems, power management, battery management, cooling systems,, traction controls, and more.
- Work with actuators, sensors, connectors and architectures on a variety of disparate systems.
- Work on the coolest problems in defense.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
- 5-7 years relevant engineering experience in automotive / commercial vehicle / aerospace / defense industry.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, power conversion and system integration
- Ability to collaborate well with other electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.
Desired Qualifications
- Masters or advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
- Strong fundamentals in control systems theory, linear systems analysis, stability, and controller design.
- Strong understanding, and intuition for the physics of electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Understanding of DC/DC controllers, battery charger controllers and both portable and fixed power systems
- Ability to assist with part selection, board design, and product design efforts.
- Ability and experience managing vendors and subcontractors
- Experience with controls system development, modeling, and implementation in an embedded environment.
- Experience in working with control actuation systems that employ permanent magnet brush and brushless DC motor technology.
- Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, current-probes, and automation of tests.
- Experience with reusable device drivers and communications protocol libraries.
- Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent electronic design automation design tools.
- Experience with Solidworks, NX, or equivalent mechanical design automation design tools.
- Experience in embedded controls, controls integration, or relevant hardware areas is preferred.
- Experience with C/C++, Python and common languages (Rust, Haskell, etc.).
- Experience with ST Micro, NXP, or Atmel microprocessors. USB, MIPI CSI2, SPI, I2C, CAN, CANFD, ARINC-825, ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485 communications experience is a plus.
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
